Document Processing
Uploaded documents are processed only after the user chooses to upload them.
Documents may be analyzed to identify reminders, dates, events, tasks, or other user-requested information.
Users should review AI-generated results before relying on them.
OCR and AI processing may occasionally produce inaccurate results.
AI Consent
Before Remica sends any information to an AI provider, users are presented with an in-app consent prompt.
The consent prompt explains:

No AI request is sent unless the user accepts.
Users may withdraw consent at any time from Settings -> Privacy -> AI Features.
Document Retention
By default, documents uploaded for Remica AI document processing are used to extract reminder, task, event, or family item information and the original uploaded file is deleted after processing. Remica stores only the extracted metadata, AI summary, and saved reminder or family item details unless you choose to keep the original document.
If you choose to keep a copy of the original document, Remica stores it as a permanent attachment until you delete it, close your account, or the service states otherwise. Profile photos and account profile assets are stored separately as profile assets.
Remica is not a backup or archival storage service. Users should keep their own copies of important documents and should not rely on uploaded document storage as a backup or archive.
Data Security
All communication with Remica services uses encrypted HTTPS connections.
Personal information is protected using industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards including:
- encrypted transport
- access controls
